About our cause
The Poulton-le-Fylde Community Hall was previously known as the Vicarage Park Community Centre until June 2022. As a community hub, we provide a much-needed and valued service for the local community in Poulton-le-Fylde. Saved from demolition in 2014 by a community trust and reborn as a Community Hall, the once run-down church hall was officially reopened in November 2018 by the Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Lord Shuttleworth, and has since grown from strength to strength.
The Community Hall offers regular daytime classes for exercise and wellbeing, table tennis, ballroom dancing, gardening, am-dram, foreign language tuition and several activities for parents and toddlers. As part of its community mission, the hall hosts meetings for many local community groups, and the Community Hall has been brought back into service as a polling station for political elections.
Since reopening, the Community Hall has promoted over 150 community events ranging from craft fairs to table-top sales to music concerts, comedy nights and theatrical productions that have proved highly popular with local people. The Poulton Farmers' Market and Craft Market has also returned to its regular slot on the last Saturday of each calendar month. The hall is also a popular venue for private celebrations like anniversaries, birthdays, and family and office parties.
Over the past two years, with help from our dedicated team of volunteers, topped off with grant aid, we have raised funds to install new windows, insulate the walls and roof, replace worn-out furniture and fully decorate the building inside and outside. We have a minimal income and operate very much on a shoe-string budget, so every penny counts. We need your help to sustain our work and to help us maintain and improve the Community Hall for the benefit of everyone who lives or works in Poulton and the surrounding area.
Please support the Poulton-le-Fylde Community Hall by buying a regular Lottery Ticket for our cause. Thank you for your support, and good luck!
Yours sincerely,
Christopher Gannon
